We had a nice light lunch (ripe tomatoes, slices of something similar to headcheese, curly endive salad, and slices of cantaloupe). On the terrace. On the terrace. On the terrace. I hadn't managed to take only one full meal on our covered patio since Roger installed it, over a month ago.
We chatted lazily. Roger even took a nap. Late in the afternoon, we went walking by the sea, near Moutiers-en-Retz. We saw pêcheries (it would translate as fisheries but it absolutely is not). I haven't got any picture, I'd forgotten to bring my iPad. Actually, they are very small houses built on stilts at the end of a narrow wood dock. Francoise explains that some of these tiny houses even include a kitchenette. At the end of the dock, they hang a net, six to eight square meters, that the fisherman will lower into the ocean. They catch fish – don't laugh, catching fish as opposed to catching shellfish.
We return for dinner. See the glasses Françoise uses: no, my picture is not skewed, the glasses at back are indeed slanted, the way they'd look if you had too much to drink. I have white martini, Roger has (Caol Ila whiskey, not sold in Québec - I don't know about the US.
Françoise prepared tagliatelle with chorizo, with grated parmesan and green peas. Will you look at that cute plate!
End of the first of 28 days.
