May 18, late evening (in fact May 19, small hours)

We returned at about 2:00. In the afternoon, we run a few errands with Françoise. We visit a large shopping mall to find an Espace SFR store (a phone store, like an AT&T store) to purchase some time for my French phone. Roger-who-does-not-do-shops was nevertheless fascinated by the fish store. We have several times discussed the price of fish varieties sold in France, from the modest conger slices sold at €3.60 a kilo (about $1 a pound), if memory serves. Francoise explains that this fish store actually sets very reasonable prices. We mentioned the prices I'd seen in the Paris fish store and Francoise pointed out that everything is more expensive in Paris.

As we come back, we stop at Fontaine aux Bretons, a small beach, near La-Bernerie-en-Retz. Both photographers' shutters are clicking like mad.

Instead of taking a picture, I mistakenly made a very short movie.

See Hélène waking barefoot in the ocean. Not overly warm but not overly cold either.

We walk along the beach. I make several tries at taking a picture of a pêcherie to put here on the blog and it's an utter failure. The sun's position is such that I can hardly see the iPad's screen and the picture is so backlit that you can't see anything anyway. I'm trying to show a pêcherie, not the sun setting over the ocean.
As we go back to the car, we see a sign for the Prédaire dolmen. I want to see the dolmen! And on the way, there's another pêcherie, much easier to photograph. You'll notice that it is occupied at the time I took the picture. Oh, not a picture, a movie again. Really!

That's the dolmen.

I wrote this post quickly so as to get caught up. Tomorrow, Nantes. Actually, TODAY, Nantes. Nighty night.

End of the second day.
